I know, it’s probably a bit soon for another iris posting, but when I got home from work last night my “Merlot” iris was blooming and it is SO beautiful I couldn’t resist taking a picture of it to post today. The color is so gorgeous—it really does remind me of wine (perhaps one of the reasons I love it so much).
As you can see, “Bold Look” was not quite ready last night—when I walked out the door this morning, of course, it had bloomed, but I didn’t have time to go back inside and grab my camera. So, for now, you get the “bud” shot instead.
And here is the stunning “Millennium Falcon”—I can’t wait to be able to show you “Skywalker” as well.
We are off to the lake again this afternoon, although my vegetable garden is in dire need of a good weeding—maybe I’ll be able to work up the energy to do it after work one day next week. Otherwise, I’m sure the weeds will wait for me until the following weekend—I’ve got a LONG to-do list that is growing longer by the day. But after four weekends in a row out of town, I’ll be looking forward to really accomplishing some things at home.
Happy Friday!

Very pretty. My wife has a large flower garden, but the ones I enjoy the most are the ones of my youth. The wild flox, columbines, and wild tiger lillies.
