Well, I’m back. . . I hope you didn’t miss me too much. It’s been a while since I’ve posted–I’ve been writing this blog for a just over a year, now, and I think this is the first time I’ve missed so many days, other than when I’ve been on vacation.
Just to keep you updated, I’ve not been on vacation. But this spring has been a real challenge in many ways. My job was just getting to be too much for me to handle, so I changed jobs. That’s been interesting–the new place is great (I’m still at Concordia, just in a different office now) but I do miss my old place. But I don’t miss the amazingly high stress-level of my old job at all.
Then, about 6 weeks ago, Trevor’s mom was diagnosed with cancer–it was in her liver when they discovered it. She died last Wednesday. We’re still reeling from the experience–it just went so fast we still can’t believe it. She was only 68 and, other than the cancer that took her life, she was in very good health, active and energetic.
The support of the rest of our family has been just amazing–my sister and brother-in-law even came over and mowed and pulled dandelions for us one night when we were still sitting vigil at the hospital. I don’t know what I would have done without my wonderful family these past few weeks.
My plants are still waiting to be potted up, and I was able to make the yearly pilgrimage to Sheldon Greenhouse with my mom on Sunday. . . I guess life goes on.
