We just got back yesterday afternoon from a four-day weekend at the lake–our last for this season, until spring. It’s always hard to leave.
But we had a great time. The weather wasn’t fabulous; it was rainy and cool much of the four days we were there, but that’s ok–it gave us a chance to watch a bunch of movies and really relax.
We also did our yearly trip to Glendalough State Park, near Battle Lake–it was later in the fall than usual for our visit, but it was still beautiful. Not a lot of leaves left, but it was still great to walk around the paths and see what’s happening with the season.
Of course, we couldn’t go to Glendalough without making a quick stop at the Pet Cemetery. . . I don’t know why I find that SO amusing. . . probably a Stephen King thing.
Trevor refused to pose for a photo but offered to get one of me, so here I am.
It was a great, relaxing, rejuvenating weekend, and we also had the opportunity to stop at Bluebird Gardens on our way home for a free harvest of cabbage and bok choi. I will be looking for creative ways of cooking and preserving cabbage for the next couple of weeks!
