If you read my blog on Monday, you know that Trevor and I spent a nice long weekend at the lake this past weekend. On the way home we stopped at Bluebird Gardens, our CSA farm, to get some cabbage and bok choi.
So, last night, I made Cream of Cabbage Soup–a recipe I’d found perusing an Olivet Lutheran Church cookbook that my mom had at the lake. (More to come about this soup on Friday.) 😉
When I opened my flour container (which I had brought to the lake, because we needed flour for one of the things we cooked while we were there), I found a little surprise.
This is one of the set of measuring cups that my mom keeps at the lake place, which originated with my grandmother (her mother). Kind of cute, isn’t it?? You can tell it’s an oldie.
I guess this is what happens when you don’t keep a scoop in your flour container.
I’ll have to put it in my “lake” pile so that I can bring it back where it belongs the next time we go–probably sometime in the spring.
