I’ve put in my first vegetable order of the season–I can’t believe it took me so long to start! I still have quite a bit of vegetable-ordering to complete, but there’s probably no rush, since I can’t plant for almost two months yet. But it’s always fun to finalize the veggie plans.
I’m pretty excited because this year I found a new carrot to try. I’ve been planting purple carrots (and yellow and red and white carrots) for quite a few years, but typically they look sort of like this.
Pretty, I think, but usually they’re purple on the outside and still orange on the inside. It does make for a striking color combination, granted, but this year I found this little beauty in the Territorial Seed catalog.
Isn’t it cool?? I can’t wait to try it and see what color it turns when it’s cooked.
(Probably orange.)
Then I rounded out my order with a nice purple bush bean.
Combining those with the green bush beans and yard-long “red noodle” beans I’ve already ordered, it is promising to be a colorful year for veggies!

I don’t think I could eat a purple carrot or bean! I want “normal” colored foods LOL But I love to see what you do with yours and how they come out when you cook them!
