I couldn’t resist–I was at the grocery store on Friday and saw this cheerful little grouping of spring bulbs. I know they’re way overpriced (I think I spent $7.99 on this little pot), but what a welcome touch of spring in the midst of all this snow!
We are in the middle of a home improvement project–basically just painting the living room and dining room–that has put our house in a bit of an uproar. . . well, maybe just a big mess. So in a way I thought it was pointless to buy some pretty flowers because I had no place to put them.
Then I thought, hey, why not the kitchen? We walk through there a hundred times a day, it could use a little brightening. So I caved and bought the little guys, being sure to choose a pot where most of the bulbs hadn’t opened up yet.
This one has the tete-a-tete daffodils, a beautiful pink hyacinth, and some tiny little grape muscari. They are so cute!
Anyway, more on the home improvement later–I’ll post some pictures when we’re done. Or closer to done. It’s still pretty scary.
