I know, I’ve been posting about our trip to the cities all week. Please, bear with me for one more post about the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. . . well, one more for now, anyway. I’ll probably have another rash of them after my next advisory board meeting in April.
But there was something really extraordinary about our visit to the Arb (aside from our wonderful lunch, which I told you about on Wednesday).
When we walked into the visitor’s center, we saw, out of the corner of our eyes, a huge, 25-foot Christmas tree over to one side of the lobby.
Then, a double-take–wait, is that a Christmas tree? No, in fact it is a large, Christmas-tree shaped tower of orchids! (Which you may have guessed already, because of my so-clever blog entry title.)
Isn’t that spectacular? The photo isn’t great, because it was right in front of that huge window, but you get the general idea. The tree was quite the sight, and even more so up close.
We just couldn’t get over the gorgeous colors. I have to admit, I’ve never had an orchid, but I’m thinking about getting one. Or two. . . or three. . . .
