Fifty shrubs. . . planted!

You may have noticed the discrepancy.  I had ordered 75 “shrubs” (12-inch sticks, basically) to plant at the lake.

But that’s what you get when you don’t open the box. :)  We got to the lake, opened the box, and realized they’d only sent 50 of them–25 Ninebarks and 25 Sumacs.

Really, it went a lot faster than I thought it would.  We marked each newly planted stick with a popsicle stick (all we could find), but you can barely see either the popsicle stick or the shrub from a foot or two away.

But, I’m hoping that they will grow well, and quickly, since they’re bareroot, and that the hill top will again be lush and full.

See that tiny little stick in the front, with those pale whitish-yellow sprouts?  Well, we’ve got 50 of them. Here’s to soon having 25 more! :)

Probably for the best! Fifty is a lot to plant at once, let alone 75!
